What is Deliverance?

Deliverance is when Jesus sets  people free from the power of darkness. In Mark 16:17, He says that those who believe in Him will cast out demons in His name. That means deliverance is part of the normal Christian life—Jesus breaking chains, healing hearts, and removing spiritual oppression so we can follow Him in freedom.

These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues;

Who are you and whose are you?

DNA Double Helix

I am a hairdresser by trade. I love visiting clients and finding out about them as I am cutting their hair.  It's always so interesting, the things I find out about them.  I have learned about neat jobs, places to visit, restaurants, adventures that people have had in their lives and so much more.

Several months ago, one of the girls in the shop was cutting a gentleman's hair that I had cut at one point as well.  As she was cutting, I heard their conversation.  It's funny, I remember a very similar conversation I had with him when I cut him.  He was a veteran.  He served in the Navy for many years and had retired from there. Veterans are so proud to have served. (As they should be!!) I often cut their hair, and they always make sure to tell me they served. I Iove hearing that. It's a big deal and I'm so grateful for them.

In hearing the conversation, a thought struck me.  A lot of times, people identify with their trade, sickness, service or even their struggles.  It's almost become who they are.

Please don't get me wrong! I am eternally grateful for our military. It's just that  many times, things I hear, provoke me to dig deeper. To give further context into what I mean, I'll use myself as an example. As I said above, I am a hairdresser.  I am a little less than 5'1" , so I'm

short.  I'm what most would say a "Tomboy."  I don't care for dresses, painted nails and lipstick.  It's not who lam. Those attributes are what I have "identified" as for years. What I really am?? l am a Child of God. That my friend, is my true identity. It's the one that by far explains who Shayla truly is.

John 1:12 NKJV says, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."

What does this mean? It means that I believe there is one God.  He gave His son as a ransom for my sins and my life (John 3:16-17).  Jesus was brutally beaten beyond recognition, then hung on a cross until He died.  He defeated death and rose on the 3rd day.  He will come back again for those who love and follow His ways.  He did this for me! He did this knowing beforehand every mistake I would make. He knew the times I would put Him last, yet He still pursued and continues to pursue me.

My identity?? I'm a Jesus loving, born again believer.  I AM saved. I know who I am, but I also know whose I am.  I AM His.

Friends, I do believe our time on this earth is shorter than we think.  Jesus loves You! It doesn't matter what you have done.  It doesn't matter that you feel unworthy.  What I want to tell you, is that you ARE worthy.  He paid the price for you!! That emptiness? He can fill that. That sadness? He can heal that. That broken heart? He can restore that.  I promise there is nothing in this life that can fill that void in you, other than Him. No drug, alcohol, relationship or even job can take the place that He put in you, for Him to reside.

God Loves You! We love you.

John 3:16-17 NKJV "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

God Bless You!

Shayla
